Alan Hunter

Alan Hunter completed his dental degree at the University of Otago in 1979. He then worked as an Assistant Lecturer in the department of Conservative Dentistry for 1 year prior to working for 3 years in general dental practice in Auckland.

He subsequently moved to Melbourne to undertake a Masters programme in Restorative dentistry, and graduated MDSc in 1985. He was then appointed lecturer at the London Hospital Medical College, and completed a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons in Edinburgh while working in the UK. Following this he spent a year as visiting Assistant Professor in Fixed Prosthodontics at the University of Iowa (USA) before returning to Auckland to start a specialist practice in Prosthodontics.

Alan is registered as a Dental Specialist in Prosthodontics with the Dental Council of New Zealand and has also completed a fellowship with the Royal Australasian Collage of Dental Surgeons.

Alan has lectured and published in New Zealand and internationally, and is a member of the International College of Prosthodontists, the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Prosthodontists, and the NZ Association of Prosthodontists and Restorative Dentists.
